Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz opened on the first hand of the day and Aymon Hata defended his big blind. Hata check-folded on the flop, and Holz then opened the very next hand. He took down the blinds and antes.

On the third hand of the day, with Holz in the big blind, Stephen Chidwick limped in from the cutoff. "Deception," said Holz, smiling, as he checked his big blind.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was the {8-Spades}. Holz bet 150,000 and Chidwick called.

The river was the {7-Hearts} putting a straight on the board. Holz bombed it, betting 800,000. Chidwick snap-called.

Holz showed {10-Spades}{4-Clubs} for a straight, Chidwick showed {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} also for a straight. "No way," said Holz as the pair chopped it up.
