Hegele Loses Chips

Level 8 : 250/500, 75 ante

The flop read {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and there was about 5,000 in the middle already. Both the big blind and Robin Hegele in mid-position checked. The player in late position bet 1,600 and the big blind quickly folded. Hegele needed a few seconds but then called.

They both checked through the {a-Spades} on the turn to the {3-Clubs} on the river. Hegele bet 2,250 and his opponent called. Hegele tabled {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for two pair, kings and treys. But he was beaten by the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} of his opponent with the bigger two pair.

The player in the button had the all-in button in front of him for 2,525 and was called by Shannon Shorr in the hijack and the player in the cutoff.

They both checked through the {9-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{4-Spades} on the flop and the {q-Clubs} on the turn to the {j-Diamonds} on the river. Shorr bet 2,800 and his opponent looked at his hole cards and then decided to fold. Shorr held {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for the turned set of jacks and the player in the button was rivered as he held {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for the set of nines on the flop.

Gaurav Raina
Gaurav Raina

On a raised pot, the flop was showing {q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Spades} when Gaurav Raina was facing a three-bet from his opponent for 9,000. Raina made the call and both players checked on the {10-Spades} turn.

The river fell a {8-Hearts} and Raina, after some thought, called his opponent's bet for 5,500. The latter tabled {j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for trips queens but Raina, with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, had the best kicker and won the pot.
