Mitseff Eliminates Vathanasin on the Money Bubble

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Mark Vathanasin was clearly the shortest stack in the room when the hand-for-hand progress began and everyone had their eyes on when he would get his chips in the middle. Vathanasin was the bring-in and Jeffrey Mitseff completed. Vathanasin picked up a hand he decided to go with, as he three-bet to 6,000, the rest of his chips. Mitseff called and the cards were tabled.

Jeffrey Mitseff: {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs} / {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} / {8-Spades}
Mark Vathanasin: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} / {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} / {8-Diamonds}

Vathanasin held the early lead with a pair of fives but Mitseff took control on fourth with a pair of aces. Neither player improved on fifth or sixth and there was no low draw to be had. On seventh, Vathanasin was the first to table his last down card and made two pair, eights and fives. However, Mitseff also pull an eight on his last card to make aces and eights, sending Vathanasin home on the bubble.
