Negreanu Misses Out on a Double Up

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Daniel Negreanu: {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Cyndy Violette: {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Daniel Negreanu was down to just over 2,000 chips and was able to get all of his money in the middle on the first round of betting against Cyndy Violette. Negreanu started out with three diamonds and picked up another one on fourth.

Fifth street gave him a pair of eights and sixth gave Negreanu a low draw. Heading to seventh, Negreanu was still in the lead with his pair of eights and he still had a flush draw and a low draw. Negreanu completed his low draw and Violette peeled her last card. She looked down at the {q-Hearts} which gave her a pair of queens to take the high hand, denying Negreanu a full double up.
