Woodward Doubles Through Song Twice

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Matthew Woodward has just secured two double-ups at the expense of Kevin Song.

In the first hand, Song raised, short stack Woodward three-bet, Song four-bet and ultimately called after Woodward moved all in.

Kevin Song: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Matthew Woodward: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Board: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Woodward held to move up to around the 100,000-chip mark, and just a couple of hands later he was all in against Song once more.

Woodward opened with a raise from the cutoff and Song called in the small blind. The latter then led with a bet on the {2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, and Woodward called. The turn came the {a-Hearts}, Song bet 30,000, Woodward moved all in for 53,000 total and was called.

Matthew Woodward: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Kevin Song: {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

River: {8-Diamonds}

Both players had top pair, but start-of-day chip leader Woodward was the man to scoop the pot with his king-kicker to continue his comeback.
