It’s time for another brand-new event at the 2018 World Series of Poker which starts at 11 a.m. local time. Day 1a of Event #34: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’Em will give players a double starting stack for their $1,000 buy-in.
Due to the fact that players can reenter for an unlimited amount of times, the expectation is that this tournament is going to be attracting a big field over the two starting days. Also keep in mind that in Event #32: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship, the field was culled from 5,919 entries to only 943 hopefuls at the end of the day. So some of the less lucky players yesterday might decide to try again in this tournament.
Players will start with 10,000 chips and be playing ten 60-minute levels on each starting day. The late registration and reentry period will be open for eight levels, which is till approximately 9:15 p.m. local time. There will be a 20-minute break after every two levels and a 75-minute dinner break after the sixth level which should be around 5:30 p.m. local time.
The players that manage to bag and tag their chips at the end of Day 1a today or Day 1b tomorrow, will continue play on Monday, June 18, at noon local time. Including the two starting days, this event is scheduled to play down to a winner in five days.
