Fayant Doubles Through Ramdin

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

With about 60,000 chips already in the pot and the board reading {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Jody Fayant got his stack in against Victor Ramdin. Both players were in middle position and Ramdin had the larger of the two stacks by 17,500.

Jody Fayant: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Victor Ramdin: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-}

Fayant had the lead with his set of queens and Ramdin needed one of his draws to complete in order to win the pot. The {4-Diamonds} turn and {2-Diamonds} river were no help to Ramdin and he was left with 3.5 big blinds after Fayant took the pot to double up.

The next hand, Ramdin shoved from early position and Scott Clements called from the big blind.

Victor Ramdin: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Scott Clements: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}

Clements had the lead and Ramdin needed help from the deck to survive. The {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop paired Ramdin's ace and gave him the nut-flush draw, the {Q-Clubs} hit the turn to complete Ramdin's flush, the {3-Hearts} river changed nothing, and Ramdin took the pot to stay afloat.
