Reard Building a Stack

Level 6 : 150/300, 50 ante

On a board reading {4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and a pot nearing 10,000 Alexandre Reard moved a large stack of 1,000 chips to put his opponent at risk for his tournament. After a long tank he eventually folded.

A few hands later the button player raised to 1,000 and Reard defended his big blind with {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Both players checked on the {4-}{5-}{8-} rainbow flop.

The {7-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Reard three-bet to 4,000 after his initial bet of 500 was raised to 1,600. His opponent made the call.

On the {k-} river Reard check-called a shove worth 15,000 to see {a-}{9-} in his opponent's hand.

That last hand took him to the brink of a 50,000 stack.
