Pinson Out on the River

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Hold'em

Aaron Pinson opened from under the gun and Matt Woodward three-bet from early position. The button called and Pinson then moved all in. Woodward and the button made the call, the flop came down {k-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Both players checked and the turn came the {k-Clubs}. Woodward bet and the button opponent folded. Pinson tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for trips and Woodward then flipped over {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for two pair and would need help on the river. The river a dream card for Woodward as it came the {5-Spades} to give him a full house and eliminate Pinson.

Vasudevan Hides the Aces

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Sandeep Vasudevan: {x-}{x-} / {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Spades} / {x-}
Bradley Smith: {x-}{x-} / {5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} / {x-}

Picking up the action on fifth street with Bradley Smith having the betting lead, he opted to check-call a bet from Sandeep Vasudevan. The action was the same on sixth street and the last card was dealt.

Smith led out on seventh and Vasudevan quickly raised. Smith thought for over a minute before making the call. Vasudevan turned over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} for trip aces and Smith was unable to beat it. There was also no low hand from either player, sending the entire pot to Vasudevan.

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Kate Hoang
Kate Hoang

Hold'em

The action folded to Peter Brownstein who raised it up from the hijack. Kate Hoang three-bet from the cutoff and the action folded back to Brownstein who stuck in his last few chips. It was a rare situation where all the chips were in the middle preflop in a limit game.

Kate Hoang: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Peter Brownstein: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The two players were flipping preflop with Hoang holding a slight advantage with the pocket pair. The board ran out {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Brownstein was unable to connect with his hand. Hoang raked in the pot and scored the elimination.

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With the air conditioning broken inside the Amazon Room currently, things are getting a little heated but it's not fazing Sandeep Vasudevan. In fact, he is going on a little heater himself, making it extra hot in here.

Razz

Sandeep Vasudevan: {x-}{x-} / {q-}{9-}{a-}{7-} / {x-}
Ryan Bambrick: {x-}{x-} / {8-}{j-}{10-}{7-} / {x-}

Ryan Bambrick completed and was called by two players, one of them being Vasudevan. The action was checked to Bambrick on fourth street who tossed in a bet and was called by only Vasudevan.

Bambrick check-called a bet from Vasudevan on fifth and sixth and then both players tapped the table on seventh. Vasudevan flipped over {6-}{5-} for a nine-low and Bambrick was forced to send his cards to the muck.

Phamolivo Lucky on the River

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hold'em

The table change has been rough for both remaining short stacks and the two players would end up battling it out in the following hand.

Jason Phamolivo opened from the hijack and Thomas Chung called from the button. The flop came down {4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Phamolivo check-raised Chung's bet. Chung called and the turn came the {9-Diamonds}.

Phamolivo moved all in and Chung quickly called, players then revealed their hands. Phamolivo tabled {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for bottom pair and Chung showed {a-Spades}{4-Spades} for a higher pair. Phamolivo was fortunate enough to hit a {2-Hearts} on the river for trips to take down the pot, leaving Chung with crumbs.
