Smith Cracks Aces with a Measly Two Pair

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Bradley Smith: {x-}{x-} / {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} / {x-}
Suketu Patel: {x-}{x-} / {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} / {x-}

Picking up the action on fifth street, Bradley Smith had the betting lead with a pair of deuces. He led out and was called by Suketu Patel. The action was the same on sixth, and it slowed down on seventh. Both players checked after looking at their final card and Smith announced two pair.

He turned over {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for threes and deuces while Patel flashed the {a-Diamonds} for a pair of aces. Smith scooped the pot as neither player held a low hand.

Patel Sends Ma for a Walk

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Tony Ma
Tony Ma

Hold'em

The action folded to Tony Ma on the button who raised it up. Suketu Patel three-bet from the small blind and Ma called to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Patel led out and Ma raised which was followed by a three-bet from Patel. Ma called and the {7-Spades} landed on the turn.

Patel fired again and Ma raised again. Patel just called this time and the {j-Spades} completed the board. Patel led out one more time and Ma tossed in a chip to call. Patel rolled over {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a rivered straight and Ma couldn't believe it. He sat with his hands on his head for a good 30 seconds and then finally pushed his cards to the muck. He got up from his seat and took a walk around the room with his short stack sitting on the table.

Radanov and Woodward Running Away with the Lead

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Damjan Radanov has been leading the tournament since the last couple of levels on Day 1 and has not looked back since. However, Matt Woodward has caught fire recently and is making a push for the lead.

Omaha Hi-Lo

After a raise from middle position, Woodward called from the cutoff and the big blind tagged along as well. The flop came {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and the action checked to Woodward who tossed in a bet. The big blind was the only one to call and they went heads-up to the {9-Clubs} on the turn.

Both players checked and the {q-Clubs} hit the river. The big blind checked one more time and Woodward fired in a bet. His opponent thought for a good minute before finally making the call. Woodward turned over {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for trip fours and raked in the pot.

Meanwhile at another table, Radanov was heads-up with an opponent who was all in on fourth street playing Razz. Radanov reeled off a seven-four low to eliminate his opponent and climb over 300,000 chips.

Myerson Makes a Flush and a Low

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 700 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Alan Myerson: {x-}{x-} / {8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} / {x-}
Scott Clements: {x-}{x-} / {2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Spades} / {x-}
Richard Korbin: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{j-Spades} / {x-}

Alan Myerson completed and was called by Richard Korbin. Scott Clements was the bring in and three-bet which was called by both players. Korbin led out with the betting lead on fourth and Clements raised again. Both Myerson and Korbin called.

Korbin fired again on fifth and Clements just called this time along with Myerson. The action checked around on sixth and on seventh the action checked to Myserson who tossed in a bet. Korbin frustratingly mucked his cards and Clements called.

Myserson flipped over {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Spades} for a flush and a seven-low hand. Clements looked back at his cards, hoping they would change but he was forced to send his hand to the muck as well. Myserson scooped the pot to climb over 100,000 for the first time today.
