Boyd Bubbles; No Hand-for-Hand Play

Dealers had been instructed to stand up after the conclusion of the hand in progress to prepare for hand-for-hand play on the money bubble, but it proved unnecessary.

Dutch Boyd raised the button, the small blind three-bet to what looked like 70,000, and Boyd called, leaving himself about 28,000 chips behind.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and the small blind bet enough to put Boyd to a decision for his remaining chips. He called and the two players tabled their hands.

Dutch Boyd: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Small blind: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Boyd found himself behind with the worse of the two overpairs and needed help from the deck to survive. The {8-Spades} turn and {4-Spades} river were no help to Boyd and his opponent took the pot to eliminate him.
