Seed Backdoors a Flush, and Folds

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Miguel Borrero check-called a bet of 7,300 from Huck Seed on the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} board before seeing the {3-Hearts} land on the river. Borrero piled out a bet of 20,575, and this sent Seed into the tank. Eventually, Seed folded and showed the {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a heart flush. Borrero didn't show and was pushed the pot.

Mackoff Hanging On

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Facing a bet on the river to put him all in, Jonas Mackoff went into the tank. The board read {j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, with around 10,000 in the pot. Mackoff's opponent had bet 10,000 on the river and after several minutes, apologizing for taking so long, Mackoff tossed his cards into the muck.

Boeree Doubles

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Under the gun, Liv Boeree bumped up the action to 900. Action folded around the the player in the small blind, who made the call. As the dealer fanned out a {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, the player in the small blind checked dark, Boeree bet 1,300, her opponent then raised to 10,000, and Boeree called off the rest of her stack, moving all in for 6,325.

Boeree: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Boeree was behind but has a slew of outs heading to the turn. The {10-Diamonds} was of no help, leaving her drawing to the river. The {q-Diamonds} fell on fifth street giving Boeree a pair of queens and a much needed double up.

Queen High No Good

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jason Somerville tossed out 1,500 on a flop of {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, one opponent called, and Vanessa Selbst folded.

The turn was a third jack - the {j-Spades} - and Somerville fired out another 3,500. The player quickly called.

The {k-Diamonds} completed the board, Somerville knuckled, and the player checked behind.

"Queen high," Somerville told the player.

He didn't respond, so Somerville picked up his cards, showing him the {q-Spades}. Upon seeing the card, the player stood out of his chair to lean across the table and see if there was a queen on board. There was not, so he turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for jacks full of sevens.

Black Out

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Andy Black
Andy Black

Irish poker legend Andy Black has just been knocked out by the hands of Daniel Weinman. Weinman explained to us how Black re-shoved for his final 20 big blinds with {K-}{Q-}, and Weinman called it off holding {8-}{8-}.

The board brought {A-}{9-}{7-}{5-}{A-} and Weinman raked in the pot that sent Black to the rail.

Minh Ly Eliminated

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Minh Ly
Minh Ly

On a flop of {4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} and facing a 4,100-chip bet, Minh Ly check-raised all in for 13,950 and the player on his immediate left called along with the flop aggressor.

The turn of the {2-Spades} was checked by both active players before the {J-Spades} on the river saw one player bet 10,000 while the other folded.

Ly tabled {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for top pair, but it would be opponent's {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for a rivered set that would send Ly to the rail.

Weapons of Wirgau

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Dan Wirgau has the biggest stack at the table and he has been using it to bludgeon his opponents whenever he gets a chance.

Wirgau called a raise in the big blind and faced off against one player on a flop of {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. He checked and his opponent threw out a bet of 2,000. Wirgau check-raised to 5,650 and that gave him pause for thought. He didn’t go away though and put out the calling chips to see what would happen next.

The seemingly innocuous {2-Spades} came on the turn and Wirgau fired 10,225. His opponent toyed with some small denomination chips in his hand for a few minutes while Wirgau gave nothing away. Eventually he mucked his hand and tapped the table in submission to the aggression.

Jacks for Torelli

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Brandon Meyers opened to 1,400 only to have Alec Torelli three-bet to 2,400. Meyers called, and then check-called 2,500 on the {4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop before the {K-Hearts} and {Q-Clubs} were checked through on the turn and river.

Meyers tabled his {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, but it would be Torelli's {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} that would see him scoop the pot.
