Aces Are Good For Davie

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The first three community cards read {4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and the small blind checked over to Tim Davie in the hijack seat. Davie then set the price to play at 650 and his opponent called.

The turn brought the {J-Clubs} into play and both players checked its arrival in turn, leading the dealer to put the fifth and final community card onto the felt, the {2-Hearts}. Davie was facing a bet of 1,175 from the small blind and he quickly called, turning over {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and winning the pot as those "bullets" were a better hand than the {A-}{J-} of his opponent.

Kevin's Song is Out of Tune for Williams' Liking

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
David Williams
David Williams

David Williams opened to 400 from early position and both Angel Guillen and Kevin Song called from the button and big blind respectively.

The dealer spread a {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop and Williams fired out a continuation-bet of 1,100. Guillen folded but Song called as the {8-Clubs} on the turn was checked by both players.

The river landed the {5-Clubs} and Song tossed in 3,300 with Williams eventually finding a fold to slip to 20,000 as Song moved over 40,000 in chips.

As we were walking by table 74 in the Brasilia room's red section, we noticed Brandon Adams in a hand.

Adams opened to 600 from under the gun and the player to his left three bet to 1,200. Action folded back around to Adams and he made the call.

Veldhuis Bets Big

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

If you have ever seen Lex Veldhuis in action you will know that he is not afraid of making big plays in big pots, in fact he seems to thrive on it. In a hand that just went down Veldhuis was facing off against one player sat to his left. They had reached the river of a board reading {q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and after sorting some chips out from his stack Veldhuis bet a pot sized bet of 7,300.

His opponent took out the calling chips and gave a rather unconvincing display of chip twirling with shaky hands. After a bit of this, while Veldhuis sat there looking unconcerned, he mucked his cards.

Joep van den Bijgaart, who had an excellent start of the day, just lost a pot against France rapper turned poker player Bruno 'Kool Shen' Lopes.

Van den Bijgaart raised before the flop to 500 under the gun plus one and from his left Lopes three-bet to 1,250. The action folded back to Van den Bijgaart who four-bet to 3,100.

Lopes made the call with just 11,000 chips behind and the flop brought out {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Van den Bijgaart bet 1,700 and Lopes called. The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Van den Bijgaart glanced over at Lopes' stack before betting 3,100.

Lopes moved all in for 9,200 total and Van den Bijgaart immediately folded his cards.
