The Turn Saves Esterling

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Mike Sowers opened for 25,000 under the gun and received a call from Christopher Shaw in the hijack. Jeffery Esterling then three-bet all in for 146,000 from the cutoff, the button and blinds all folded, and Sowers moved all in over the top for 325,000, which drove Shaw from the hand.

Sowers: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Esterling: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Esterling got it in good, but the {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop was disaster as Sowers paired his queen. "Ten," Esterling requested for a sweat. The dealer delivered something ever better when he burned and turned the {J-Clubs}. Esterling spiked a set and locked up the double. The meaningless {5-Clubs} was put out on the river to make it official, and Sowers sent a good portion of his stack across the table.
