Newey Not Intimidated by Selbst

Level 1 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Paul Newey checked from the small blind and Vanessa Selbst bet 56,000 from the big. Newey made the call and then both players checked the {4-Diamonds} turn. When the {5-Spades} completed the board on the river, Newey led out for 50,000 and Selbst thought for a bit before raising to 109,000. Not to be outdone, Newey pushed back with a three-bet to 225,000, and it did the trick as Selbst released he hand.
