Reiss Doubles Through O'Dea

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

In a limped pot, JR Reiss bet 6,000 on a flop of {q-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} out of the big blind, and two opponents made the call. On the {9-Clubs} turn, Reiss shoved all in for 17,700, and the first player called. On the button, Eoghan O'Dea moved all in, prompting the caller to contemplate his hand and count his stack. After a couple of minutes, he folded {a-}{3-}{6-}{7-} face up, saying he was afraid he was drawing dead.

Reiss turned over {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a set, but he had been outdrawn on the turn when O'Dea hit a straight with {a-}{j-}{10-}{x-} with spades. The river was a savior for Reiss: {9-Diamonds}, bringing a full house and giving him the whole pot.
