The $50k Champion Joins
Seconds after the official winner pictures were taken John Hennigan ran over to this event to put him right back into action. No celebratory champagne or dinner, because the man known as Johnny World only wants to keep grinding it out here at the WSOP.
Hennigan already had a second place at this year's WSOP, as he finished second in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event for $319,993, but just now he locked up the biggest cash in his career. The $50,000 Players' Championship made Hennigan $1,517,767 to put his career winnings up to around $6.2 million. Amazingly enough Hennigan finished third in the $50k last year as well.
As soon as Hennigan sat down George Danzer came over to congratulate him, and David Chiu followed shortly afterwards. Hennigan's among the world's most respected poker players and he's looking to continue his streak in this Limit Hold'em Championship.
