Peckham Cracks Aces

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Mark Peckham has been looking for an opportunity to get it in with his short stack. Sitting in the dealer position, he pushed and was called by the small blind — Bobby Byram.

Peckham: {q-Spades}{8-Spades}
Byram: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Peckham had the unfortunate luck of having his opponent wake up with the best starting hand in hold'em. The flop of {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} gave Peckham outs to a flush, and the {5-Spades} completed it. With Byram holding the best spade, Peckham just had to see a river that was anything but a fourth spade on the board or his opponent would take the lead with the better flush. It was the {10-Diamonds} and Peckham secured the double up.
