Tate Climbing
Brian Tate opened with an under-the-gun raise and found calls from Huck Seed in the cutoff and Billy Baxter in the big blind. Each player picked up two new cards on the first draw and Baxter came out with a bet. Tate flatted while Seed opted to raise. Baxter called the raise and Tate stayed the course as well.
The second draw saw Baxter and Tate take one new card while the 1996 WSOP Main Event champion stood pat. Baxter once again led at the pot, Tate raised, and Seed called. Baxter called as well. On the final draw, Baxter once again took one, Tate stood pat, and Seed decided to break what he had made earlier and draw one new card. All three players checked the final betting round.
Tate tabled the best ninety-six — — prompting both of his competitors to muck their cards. Tate was pushed the pot and now has 119,300 in chips.
