Sternheimer vs. Raymond

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Bracelet winner Derek Raymond limped in from the hijack seat before Philip Sternheimer raised the pot to 72,000 from the cutoff position. Action folded back to Raymond, and he called to take the {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop out of position. Raymond led with a bet to put Sternheimer all in, and Sternheimer called off for his remaining 71,000 in chips.

Raymond turned over the {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for top two pair and the nut low. Sternheimer had the {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} for a pair of aces, a weaker low, and a straight draw.

The turn was a {10-} and the river was a {6-}. Sternheimer made a straight to scoop the high half of the pot and Raymond took the low.
