Michael Bruyere

Michael Bruyere opened for 25,000 and J.R. Flournoy reraised the pot barely having Bruyere covered. The latter made the call and the two were dueling essentially for their tournament lives.

Bruyere held {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Flournoy {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} and the flop came {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} giving Bruyer the nut low draw and not much else while Flournoy had top two pair and the nut flush draw. The turn was the {A-Spades} giving Bruyer a pair of aces and now Flournoy had aces and tens with the flush draw. The river was the {J-Diamonds} and Bruyere thought he had moved into the lead with aces and jacks and won the pot before realizing that it was a diamond to give Flournoy the flush. Bruyere was eliminated in 16th place which was good for $9,953.
