Zhou Wins a Flip to Double

Level 22
Chun Lei Zhou
Chun Lei Zhou

No-Limit Hold'em

Frank Kassela raised to 90,000 in the hijack seat, Chun Le Zhou moved all in for 520,000 out of the small blind, and Kassela called.

Kassela: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Zhou: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Kassela was a slight mathematical favorite with his wired pair of nines, but the {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop gave Zhou a pair of tens. The man from Macau doubled through as turn and river came {a-Hearts}, {2-Hearts} respectively, and he now has 1.14 million chips.

The 2010 WSOP Player of the Year dropped down to 1.02 million.

Back-to-Back No-Limit Hold'em Hands for Martin

Level 22

No-Limit Hold'em

Abe Mosseri opened for 70,000 from the hijack and was met by a three-bet to 250,000 from Brandon Shack-Harris on the button. Jesse Martin took his time before announcing that he was all in from the small blind for approximately 2.25 million. Mosseri snap-mucked and Shack-Harris thought for a minute or so before doing the same.

In the very next hand, Martin raised to 110,000 from the button and John Hennigan defended his big blind, which brought about a flop of {4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Both players checked, the dealer burned and turned the {10-Clubs}, and Hennigan bet 125,000. Martin called and watched Hennigan bet 225,000 on the {6-Clubs} river. Martin thought for a bit before making the call with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens, and it was good as Hennigan mucked his cards.

Zhou led out after every draw, going all in for 90,000 after the third, and Hennigan called, called, and folded.

"I thought I got there," Hennigan said looking at his hand a final time before mucking what appeared to be a pair.

The very next hand, Zhou raised out of the small blind and Brandon Shack-Harris called.

Zhou led out after the second draw, Shack-Harris raised, and Zhou called. Zhou checked in the dark after the second draw, Shack-Harris bet, and Zhou called.

When Zhou patted on the final draw, Shack-Harris nearly broke his hand before deciding to pat behind. Both players checked, and Shack-Harris fanned a nine-perfect; {9-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Zhou mucked.

Zhou Gives Up on Big 2-7 Triple Draw Pot

Level 22

2-7 Triple Draw

Abe Mosseri raised to 160,000 from under the gun and Chun Lei Zhou called him from the hijack. Jesse Martin then three-bet to 240,000 from the button, the blinds folded, and Mosseri made it four bets to 320,000. Both Zhou and Martin called and the players drew 1-2-1 respectively.

Mosseri bet 80,000, Zhou called, and Martin bumped it to 160,000. The other two players called and then Mosseri drew one and Zhou two. Martin stood pat. Mosseri and Zhou then check-called another 160,000 and the former drew one while the latter stood pat. Martin refused to break.

Mosseri checked, as did Zhou, and Martin bet 160,000 one last time. Mosseri quickly folded and Zhou, who had most of his chips in the pot, thought long and hard before releasing his hand.

Dead Man's Hand for Zhou

Level 22

Stud 8

Brandon Shack-Harris brought it in with the {2-Diamonds} and three players just called. John Hennigan then checked when he paired sixes on fourth, and two more checks saw Frank Kassela bet. Hennigan called, as did Chun Lei Zhou, and Shack-Harris got out of the way. Hennigan then checked fifth, Zhou bet 160,000, and only Kassela called. That action repeated itself on sixth before both players checked seventh.

Kassela: {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} / {k-Clubs}{x-}{x-}
Hennigan: {x-}{x-} / {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs}fold
Zhou: {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} / {a-}{8-}{8-}
Shack-Harris: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}fold

Kassela flashed a pair of kings, but it was no good as Zhou had aces and eights.

Limit Hold'em

Chun Lei Zhou raised in the cutoff, Brandon Shack-Harris made it three bets on the button, and Zhou called. The flop fell {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs}, and Zhou check-folded to a bet.

A few hands later, Zhou made it two bets from under the gun. Frank Kassela reraised on the button, Zhou called, and the flop was {4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Zhou check-called a bet, both players checked on the turn ({5-Hearts}), and Zhou led out on the river ({6-Hearts}).

Zhou showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} for effectively ace-high. Kassela was out-kicking with {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, and Zhou picked up the pot.

Big Bet on the Turn from Martin

Level 22

Pot-Limit Omaha

Jesse Martin raised to 115,000 from the cutoff and Frank Kassela called from the button. The {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Clubs} flop saw Martin bet 130,000, Kassela called, and the {8-Diamonds} appear on the turn. Martin took his time before firing out 445,000, and it did the trick as Kassela folded.
