Dempsey Drops and Doubles

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

James Dempsey was facing a four-bet preflop when he reached into the dealer tray and pulled out the all-in chip, slapping it down in front of his stack. "He's all in," the dealer announced. His opponent called and showed {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} to Dempsey's {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The race was on and Dempsey needed to connect with the board somehow, but it was not to be, as the dealer spread out {7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Dempsey was crippled. After he matched his opponent's stack and slid over the chips, he was left with just 600 for himself.

He has since doubled up and has a few more chips to play with, but is still sitting quite short.
