Final Table Interview: Kyle Cartwright

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Kyle Cartwright
Kyle Cartwright

With five World Series of Poker circuit rings to his name, Kyle Cartwright is in position to win his first gold bracelet. He is currently the dominating chip leader and only 4 players stand between him and the first-place prize of $360,435.

We only had a few seconds with him as he was busy stacking chips into the break after eliminating Jeremy Dresch in 6th-place.

Obviously the field was huge, especially for an early event. How were able to navigate your way through?

On day 1, I had pocket fours and the flop came eight-six-four and I folded the hand on the flop. The guy had pocket sixes. And that’s why I am still in. I’ve run really good. I have had aces a lot and I have had some great cards the last three days.

The next question was going to be any key hands, but I guess the pocket fours hand is it?

Yes. I just had a weird feeling. I was winning a lot of hands but something just didn’t feel right. On break he ended up telling me he had pocket sixes. That’s the only reason why I am here right now that and I’m catching some cards.

How’s your summer schedule looking? Does a win here change anything?

I planned on staying the entire summer and still plan on playing the every event.

How do you like your table?

I have a decent seat, Ylon [Schwartz] is pretty good, a decent player. Other than that, I have a good seat and table.
