Qartomy Doesn't Get It Quietly

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Ray Qartomy has sent a player to the rail after the pair were needling each other for most of the past level.

Qartomy won a large pot when he flopped trip jacks with {A-}{J-} and got a 15,000 river bet paid off. A couple of hands later, Qartomy raised from late position and was three-bet to 16,000 for the second or third consecutive time. On this occasion, Qartomy four-bet all-in and his opponent instantly called.

It was a lowly pair of fours for Qartomy versus the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} of his opponent. A {4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} flop gifted Qartomy a set and when the turn and river fell {A-Diamonds} and {8-Diamonds} he won a chunky pot.

As his opponent collected his belongings, Qartomy said something about knowing when to fold'em like in Kenny Rogers song The Gambler, to which his opponent seemed a little bemused.

Trio of Stars of Table 443

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Table #443 is the home to a trio of established pros who are each vying for the $418,435 first place prize and the coveted gold World Series of poker bracelet.

Of the trio, Matt Stout is faring best with 200,000 chips, around double what the UK's Ben Dobson has, which in turn is about half of what Vinny Pahuja has in front of him.

The Force of Fourcade

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Guillaume Fourcade's Star Wars collection.
Guillaume Fourcade's Star Wars collection.

Guillaume has reinforced his defenses since yesterday. His collection of Star Wars figurines has grown, presumably for the extra strength needed to get through a Day 2.

He just scooped a decent pot when he called a bet preflop and check-called a 7,000 bet on the flop of {j-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}. The turn was the {9-Spades} and both players checked. He led out big after the {k-Clubs} came down on the river, but his opponent folded. He showed {k-Diamonds} for a boat and stacked up his newly-acquired chips next to his Star Wars collection.
