Stokes Doubles Through Qartomy

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ray Qartomy raised from the button and then called when Chris Stokes three-bet all in for around 50,000 from his seat in the big blind. It was one of tournament poker's classic races, Quartomy holding {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Stokes the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

The {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop essentially locked up the hand for Stokes as it left Qartomy needing to his running spades for a flush, so when the {3-Hearts} landed on the turn Stokes' double was confirmed. The {8-Diamonds} completed the board and Stokes stacked his new chips.
