King on the River Doubles Stein

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Sam Stein cracked pocket aces a few minutes ago when he caught a lucky king on the river to double up.

Stein opened to 1,33 from early position and faced a three-bet to 3,200 from a player directly opposite him in the cutoff. Stein responded with a four-bet to 5,700 only to see his opponent announce all-in. Stein quickly called and showed {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and much to his dismay was shown {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}.

A {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Spades} flop failed to change anything and by the time the {2-Diamonds} landed on the turn Stein was already standing from his seat. He had to sit back down when the {K-Spades} completed the board as it improved Stein to a set and doubled him to 39,000.
