Froehlich Climbing

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Eric Froehlich raised to 650 from under the gun and a middle positioned player called. The cutoff made it 2,000 to go and Froehlich four-bet shipped all in when action came back around to him. The middle position player got rid of his cards and the cutoff called all in for his last 6,350.

Froehlich: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

Froehlich's pocket queens were out in front and stayed that way through a {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} run out. Froehlich scored the elimination and now sits on about 22,400 in chips.

Polk Smashes Smith on the River

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Doug "WCGRider" Polk, Gavin Smith, Sorel Mizzi, and a player in the big blind just saw a four-way {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop for 800 chips. All four players checked to see the {a-Diamonds} on the turn.

Polk and the player in the big blind checked, Smith fired 2,200, Mizzi and Polk call, and the player in the big blind folded. The river brought the {q-Diamonds} and Polk open-shoved for 11,275. Smith announced all in over top of Polk and Mizzi moved out of the way. Polk tabled {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a back door nut flush and Smith tossed his hand in the muck.

Earlier this year we did an article about Polk's rise in the highest stakes of online poker. Read more here.

Shannon Shorr Finishes Runner-up at his Table

Jake Schindler had the button. He raised it up to 1,200 only to have Shannon Shorr come over the top for 2,300 total. Schindler would not be swayed, however, as he made a four-bet to 5,200. Shorr five-bet shipped all in and Schindler snapped him off.

Schindler: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Shorr: {K-Spades}{2-Spades}

The board fell down {2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, keeping Schindler's pocket tens in the lead. Shorr was eliminated as the runner-up while Schindler advanced with a stack of 88,000. Schindler is now guaranteed at least $7,805 in prize money.
