Puchkov Scoops Big Pot

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Daniel Hirleman opened the action for a raise and had three players, Konstantin Puchkov, Alex Luneau, and Michael Hack, in that order, call him. The flop came {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Luneau led out and was raised by Hack. Hirleman folded and Puchkov and Luneau both called.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and Luneau checked to Hack who bet. Puchkov put in a raise and was called by both players.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and Luneau and Hack checked to Puchkov who bet. Luneau folded and Hack muttered to himself "couldn't pair the board one time." Puchkov looked at him and said "fold this hand." Hack didn't listen, instead deciding to make the call. He probably wished he hadn't as Puchkov had the nuts with {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

"Set and flush draw," said Hack. "Unbelievable."

Heimiller Down to His Last

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Dan Heimiller just called a bet on the turn with the board reading {9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}, but he folded on the {5-Diamonds} river, leaving himself with just over a big bet. He showed why, turning over {7-}{6-}{4-}{2-} for a wrap and a low that bricked.

"Looked pretty good on the turn," Heimiller said.

Good Flop For Ho

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Maria Ho raised and found three takers in Kal Raichura from the cutoff, Michael Stewart in the small blind, and Joe Phaphon in the big blind. The flop would come {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Ho's opponents would all fold when she bet. Ho turned over {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and said "I can't think of a turn card that I wouldn't have liked."

Anil Gurnaney Eliminated in 24th Place ($8,559)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Anil Gurnaney
Anil Gurnaney

Anil Gurnaney raised and was called by Calen McNeill. Gurnaney would get the last of his chips in on the {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop and would be facing an uphill climb with his {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{2-Hearts} as McNeill had flopped top set with {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and only a ten on the river would save Gurnaney from elimination. The river was the {2-Hearts} and that was enough to send Gurnaney off to collect his 24th-place winnings.

Good Runout for Scholl

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

After a {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop, Dan Heimiller checked, Ben Scholl bet, and Kal Raichura raised. Heimiller raised, and both opponents called. Heimiller bet the {q-Clubs} turn and got called in both spots, and a {j-Spades} hit the river. Heimiller checked, Scholl bet the last of his chips, Raichura folded, and Heimiller called.

Scholl turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a backdoor Broadway straight and collected the pot.

O'Dell and Gurnaney Getting Short

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Frankie O'Dell opened for a raise and was called by Michael Hack in position and Anil Gurnaney from the big blind. The flop came {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and it was checked to Hack who bet. Both players called. The turn was the {K-Spades} and it was checked to Hack who bet again. Only O'Dell called this time. The river was the {2-Hearts} and O'Dell led out. Hack muttered under his breath "couldn't pair the board" and made the crying call.

"Good call," said O'Dell turning over {A-Diamonds}{J-}{5-Diamonds}{3-} for mostly air. Hack turned over {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a set of kings and said to O'Dell "I thought I was giving you a gift" as he started stacking his newfound chips.
