Hands #20-#23: Monnette Doubles, Mercier Scoops Massive Pot

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 3,000 ante

Hand #20: Larry Wright raised to 24,000 from under the gun.

"Let's open this game up!" said Wright with enthusiasm as he tossed out the raise. John Monnette called from the big blind and pulled one card. Wright opted to stand pat. Monnette bet all in for his last 31,000, Wright called, and Monnette fanned {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Wright mucked his hand and Monette scored the double up.

Hand #21: Jason Mercier raised to 24,000 only to have Brian Rast come over the top for 73,000 total. Action came back to Mercier and he threw away his cards, awarding Rast the pot.

Hand #22: Rast was under the gun and raised to 31,000. He picked up the antes and blinds.

Hand #23: Paul Volpe was in middle position and cut out a raise to 24,000. Mercier made it 68,000 to go from the small blind. Volpe came over the top with a four-bet to 157,000. Mercier called.

For the draw, Mercier stood pat. Volpe waited about 20 seconds before taking one card. Mercier checked over to Volpe who checked behind. Mercier fanned {9-}{8-}{6-}{5-}{3-} and picked up a sizable pot.
