Coin Flip For One More Level

Level 28

Both heads up competitors were given the option to play one more level tonight. Michael Malm did not want to play one more tonight but Steven Wolansky was adamant that he wanted to play one more level. Malm agreed to flip a coin for it. If it landed heads they went home for the night, tails they would play on.

Wolansky flipped the quarter, it fell off of the table and onto the floor. Someone from the rail declared that it fell tails. That means we're on a 20-minute break and will return for one more level.

Malm Still Clawing Upwards

Level 28

Limit Hold'em

Michael Malm called a raise in the big blind, and the players saw a {9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop. Malm check-called, and did the same on a {10-Spades} turn. He led out when the {4-Spades} hit the river, and Wolansky called.

Malm showed {6-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a rivered gutshot straight, and Wolansky's small cheering section expressed disgust.

Malm Not Going Without a Fight

Level 28

Pot-Limit Omaha

Michael Malm raised the button, Steven Wolansky potted in the big blind, and Malm shipped it in.

Malm: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Wolansky: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Malm was in good shape with blockers and better flush cards, but a {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop left him trailing. A {q-Hearts} on the turn quickly turned that around, and a brick on the river meant Malm, who has been stubbornly clinging to a very short stack, is back in contention.

Wolansky Crushing

Level 28

Omaha Eight-or-Better

After winning a large stud hand by making a flush against Michael Malm's two pair, Steven Wolansky has been on a tear, winning just about every pot.

Picking up with the action on the turn, the board read {10-Spades}{A-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and we found Wolansky lead out. Malm raised and Wolansky flat called.

Fifth street saw the {5-Diamonds} complete the board and Wolansky checked. Malm bet and Wolansky called one final bet.

Malm showed {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} but it was no good, as Wolansky showed {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for a better two pair and a low. This scoop gives Wolansky a commanding chip lead.

Wolansky Shows a Bluff

Level 28

Stud

Steven Wolansky completed with a six, and Michael Malm called with an eight. Wolansky kept the betting lead on fourth, but Malm raised him on fifth with a six-seven-ten against Wolansky's eight-ten-jack. Wolansky called, then fired out on sixth with a queen. Malm folded.

Wolansky showed his hand: {7-}{2-}/{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades}

"Nice bluff," Malm said.

No-Limit Hold'em

Steven Wolansky had the button. He popped it up to 48,000. Michael Malm three-bet to 124,000 and Wolanski called.

The flop brought {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Malm continued out for 100,000. Wolansky thought for a moment before announcing all in. Malm stood up from the table and slapped {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} face up on the table, announcing call in the process.

"Wow," said Wolansky, meekly showing {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The dealer rapped the table and produced the {a-Clubs} on the turn.

"CLUB!" said Wolansky suddenly.

Fortunately for Malm, Wolansky's request was denied as the {2-Hearts} touched down on the river and secured him a double up to 1.872 million in chips.

Wolansky Scoops a Big One

Level 27

Stud Eight or Better

Steven Wolansky check-raised on sixth street after calling on fifth. He bet seventh street.

Wolansky: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Malm: {5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

"I hope you don't have three sixes," Malm said, tossing in a call.

"I have a straight," Wolansky responded, revealing {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} as his down cards.

"That works," Malm said.
