Hand #14: Benefield Three-Bet Shoves

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 50,000 ante

Sylvain Loosli started the hand with the button, Ryan Riess raised to one million from under the gun, David Benefield moved all in for 7.3 million from the hijack seat, and the action folded back to Riess.

The Michigan native asked for a count, and the dealer informed him that it would be 6.3 million more to make the call. Riess considered the all-in raise for the better part of 90 seconds, then folded.

Hand #13: Four-Bet Shove from the Dutchman

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Jay Farber had the button in Seat 9.

Marc-Etienne McLaughlin raised to 850,000 from middle position. David Benefield reraised to 2 million from the cutoff seat, and action folded to Michiel Brummelhuis in the big blind. He reraised all in for 10.025 million. McLaughlin folded to get out of the way, then Benefield requested a count on the shove. Benefield tanked for a bit with 7.35 million in chips behind. Eventually, Benefield folded, and Brummelhuis won the pot.

Hand #12: Benefield Finds Spades; Doubles

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante
David Benefield
David Benefield

David "Raptor" Benefield had the button, and the action folded to him. He moved all in for 4.375 million, Jay Farber quickly folded, and Sylvain Loosli sat quietly for a minute or so before calling.

Benefield: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}
Loosli: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}, giving Benefield a flush draw, and the crowd went bonkers. The cheers in the Penn & Teller Theatre died down just in time for the dealer to burn a second card and deliver the turn, and when the {2-Spades} spiked on the felt, Benefield's rail lost it. The {2-Diamonds} bricked off on the river, and Benefield doubled to 9.4 million chips.
