Kings Work for Castellucio

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

After a Maxx Coleman open, Sergio Castelluccio three-bet all in for about 1.2 million and Coleman called. Castelluccio turned over {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and Coleman {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, then the flop arrived {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{K-Clubs} to give Castelluccio a set and a stranglehold on the hand.

"Not the flop I wanted to see," deadpanned Coleman.

The turn brought the {7-Spades}, making the {8-Hearts} river no matter and Castelluccio doubled up.

Timoshenko Takes Another

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Yevgeniy Timoshenko raised to 105,000 from middle position, and Matthew Reed three-bet to 255,000 in the cutoff. Timoshenko called after everyone else had folded. Both players checked the {8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, and a {k-Hearts} arrived. Timoshenko checked again, and Reed bet 225,000. Timoshenko made the call. The river was a {5-Diamonds}, and Timoshenko checked once more. Reed bet 475,000 and he was called again.

Timoshenko showed {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for a turned top pair, while Reed had {a-}{j-} for just ace-high.

Pellegrino Triples Back

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

From the hijack seat, Andrea Dato raised to 115,000. Jan Nakladal called on the button, then a recently-crippled Bryan Pellegrino reraised all in for 175,000 from the small blind. Dato wanted to reraise, but couldn't according to the dealer and just called. Nakladal also called, giving Pellegrino a chance to triple up.

The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, and both Dato and Nakladal checked to see the {8-Diamonds} land on the turn. Dato bet 175,000, and Nakladal folded. Dato then showed the {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades} for a flopped straight to have Pellegrino on the ropes with the {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for two pair.

"Eight ball," said Jonathan Jaffe onlooking from the table. It was an eight and a ten that Pellegrino would need to make a full house and stay alive.

The river completed the board with an {8-}, and Pellegrino found his full house to defeat the straight of Dato. Pellegrino scooped the pot and moved back over 600,000 in chips while Dato dropp to 1.095 million.

Pollak Doubles Up

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Benjamin Pollak
Benjamin Pollak

Jim Collopy raised to 105,000 from the hijack seat, and Benjamin Pollak then re-raised all in for 620,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back around to Collopy, who asked for an official count and then called. He showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and Pollak turned over {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, giving Pollak top pair for the lead, and a straight draw as well. The turn was the {a-Diamonds}, giving Collopy a flush draw. The river was the {a-Hearts}, and if an ace can ever be considered a complete brick, this is the time. Both draws missed, neither player improved, and Pollak doubled up with his pair of jacks.

"If You Fold, I Win for Sure"

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Sergio Castelluccio raised to 100,000 in late position, James Alexander called in the cutoff, and the button and both blinds released. The flop fell {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, Castelluccio check-called a bet of 175,000, and the turn brought the {a-Clubs}. Castelluccio checked, Alexander fired out 275,000, and Castelluccio went into the tank.

"If you call, it scares me," the American told the Italian. "If you raise, I got you."

Castelluccio called.

The {8-Clubs} completed the board, and Castelluccio checked a third time. Alexander moved all in for effectively 865,000, sending Castelluccio back into the tank.

"If you fold," Alexander said. "I win for sure."

This puzzled Castelluccio.

"I don't know what you mean by that," the Italian told him.

Castellucio tanked for a bit longer, then folded. Alexander triumphantly spiked {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} onto the felt.

"Let's play poker boys!" he exclaimed.

Nakladal Outdraws Pellegrino

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Jonathan Jaffe raised to 110,000 from the button, then Jan Nakladal pushed his stacks out in front of him to indicate an all-in reraise for 1.57 million. Bryan Pellegrino checked his cards in the big blind and soon was moving all in himself for a little more, and Jaffe stepped aside.

Nakladal had {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and smiled grimly as he saw Pellegrino turn over {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. From the neighboring table Rachid Ben Cherif had gotten up from his seat and Pellegrino called to him to come sweat the hand as the community cards were dealt.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. "That's a sweat," said Pellegrino, noting the gutshot straight draw Nakladal now had. Cherif was actually back in his seat at the other table when the {9-Diamonds} fell on the turn, filling Nakladal's straight. Pellegrino just nodded in recognition of the card, and began half-heartedly calling for an eight to fall on fifth street to enable him to chop the hand.

The river was the {6-Hearts}, and Nakladal doubled up. "You're a terrible sweater," called Pellegrino with a grin to Cherif as he began counting out the chips to pay off Nakladal.

Nakladal is up over 3 million now while Pellegrino is in the danger zone with just about 200,000.

Timoshenko's Overfull Takes Big Pot

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Yevgeniy Timoshenko held the nuts in a big pot.
Yevgeniy Timoshenko held the nuts in a big pot.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko raised to 110,000 from early position and got callers in Keanu Tabali (button) and JC Tran (small blind). The flop came {8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, and Timoshenko bet 180,000 after Tran checked. Tabali called, and Tran folded. Both players checked the {q-Spades}, and a {3-Clubs} hit the river. Timoshenko bet 420,000, and Tabali raised to 1,135,000. Timoshenko thought for a couple of minutes before coming back over the top with 2,750,000.

Tabali called, and Timoshenko showed him {k-}{q-} for the nut full house. Tabali showed {3-}{3-} for a mere rowboat compared to Timoshenko's yacht.
