Game, Set, Match for Nadal

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Santiago Nadal got the last of his short stack in preflop holding {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and he was dominated by the {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} of Yann Dion. The flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} paired both players, but kept Dion out in front. Nadal picked up more outs when the {k-Hearts} came on the turn, as an eight or a heart would now do it for Nadal. However, the river was the {3-Diamonds}, and Dion collected the bounty to up his stack to 1.3 million.

Savill Can't Defeat Foe

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We came on a big preflop confrontation between Sterling Savill and Clyde Tjauw Foe that saw the latter putting in another reraise to 127,000, Savill reraising again to over 200,000, then Foe immediately pushing all in for about 740,000 total.

Savill stood from his chair and began talking through the hand before acting.

"Snap shove, huh?" said Savill while Foe sat motionless. "Ahhhh… okay," he finally said before saying he was calling. He watched as Foe showed {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}, and Savill turned over {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

"I even thought about folding," said Savill afterwards. "But I can't do it… can't fold them," added Savill as he watched the board come {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}, then {2-Hearts}, then {3-Spades}.

After having gotten aces himself earlier to catapult up over 1 million, pocket rockets became Savill's downfall in this hand as he was all in for under 700,000 total, meaning Foe had him covered and he was eliminated.

Benefield Busts Mathis After Back-to-Back Five-Bet All-In Pots

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
David Benefield (Day 3)
David Benefield (Day 3)

On the first hand back from break, Marty Mathis cold four-bet over an open and a three-bet from David "Raptor" Benefield. Benefield moved all in, Mathis called, and the two chopped the pot with ace-king.

On the very next hand, there was an open to 24,000, Benefield three-bet to 65,000, and Mathis cold four-bet to 165,000. The action folded back to Benefield, who moved all in once again. Mathis calling, putting himself at risk and creating a roughly 1.4 million-chip pot.

Benefield: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Mathis: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Mathis was crushed, and Benefield extended his lead when the flop fell {5-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. It was all over when the {9-Diamonds} turned, and a meaningless {6-Diamonds} completed the board. Mathis hit the rail, while Benefield is up to 1.585 million chips.

Pollak Out-Kicked By Lehavot

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

From under the gun, Benjamin Pollak raised to 25,000. Action then folded to Court Harrington in the small blind, and he made the call. In the big blind, 2011 gold bracelet winner Amir Lehavot called as well, and the flop came down {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Harrington and Lehavot checked, then Pollak bet 35,000. After Harrington folded, Lehavot called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, and Lehavot checked again. Pollak stayed on the gas with a bet of 58,000. Lehavot called.

The river card was the {9-Clubs}, and Lehavot checked. Pollak reached into his stack and came out with a bet of 95,000. Lehavot tanked for a couple minutes, then called.

Pollak showed the {K-Hearts}{10-Spades} for top pair, but Lehavot had the better kicker with the {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Lehavot won the pot and moved to nearly 1.6 million in chips. Pollak dropped back under 750,000.
