Big Double for Tripodi Through Owen

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Jan Nakladal raised to 200,000 from middle position, then Dan Owen called from the hijack seat. Clement Tripodi called out of the big blind, and the flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Tripodi checked, and Nakladal checked. Owen fired 325,000, and Tripodi called. Nakladal folded.

The turn was the {K-Hearts}, and Tripodi led for 475,000. Owen raised all in for 2.965 million. Tripodi didn't snap-call, but he also didn't tank for too long before calling. He held the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a straight that he had flopped, and Owen had the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

The river was the {K-Clubs} and that failed to help Owen, who was looking for a ten to make Broadway. Tripodi won the pot and doubled up. He was all in for 2.365 million, and Owen was left with 600,000 in chips.
