McLaughlin Picks Up Some from Ponakovs

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened for 175,000 from middle position and picked up a couple of callers — Marc McLaughlin (button) and Alexander Livingston (big blind). The first three community cards came {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Livingston checked, and Ponakovs fired 225,000 into the middle. McLaughlin called the bet, then Livingston stepped aside.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}. This time Ponakovs checked and watched as McLaughlin set out a bet of 355,000. Ponakovs called McLaughlin's bet, then after the {9-Spades} fell on the river he checked once more. McLaughlin took the opening to bet again — 740,000 — and Ponakovs decided to fold his hand.
