Erik Seidel Eliminated

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Erik Seidel will have to wait another year to chase his first WSOP Main Event title. Seidel, who famously finished runner-up in this event to Johnny Chan in 1988, barely hung on with a short stack during the first level today. But the eight-time bracelet winner was just eliminated after losing a flip to Marius Pospiech.

Seidel shoved all-in for 57,000 from under the gun, and action folded to Pospiech on the button. He called, and both blinds released.

Seidel: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Pospiech: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

"That's the best I could hope for," Seidel said as he viewed his opponent's middle pair.

The cameras sprinted over to catch the board run out {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, and the full house of Pospiech sent Seidel to the rail with his fourth career cash in this event.
