Al-Darwich Over Zolotow

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Somar Al-Darwich
Somar Al-Darwich

Somar Al-Darwich opened with a raise to 6,500 from under the gun and it folded all of the way back around to Steve Zolotow in the big blind who called.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Zolotow checked, Al-Darwich bet 11,000, and Zolotow called. The turn brought the {A-Spades}, and Zolotow again bumped the table twice with a closed fist to check. Al-Darwich bet 22,000 this time, and after pulling out the calling chips and turning them over in his hand for a moment, Zolotow called again.

The river was the {K-Diamonds}. Zolotow checked once more, and Al-Darwich quickly set out a bet of 46,000. Zolotow showed his hand to his neighbor — {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} — and folded.

That pot pushes Al-Darwich back up over 850,000 and into what appears to be second position currently behind leader Dick van Luijk.
