Figueroa Lets It Go

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Victor Figueroa
Victor Figueroa

The hand started with the player under the gun opening to 2,400. The table folded around to Victor Figueroa on the button, who asked for a count, before making the call. The option then fell on the big blind, who raised it up to 7,500, which saw the original better get out of the way. After a short pause, Figueroa made the call.

The flop came down {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, and the player in the big blind instantly reached for his chips. He then threw out a continuation bet of 8,000, and waited for Figueroa to act. A minute passed, before a raise to 16,000 was placed out. Figueroa’s opponent then went into his own tank, before bumping it up to 42,000, which was enough to take down the pot, as Figueroa mucked shortly after.

Figueroa still sits amongst the chip leaders, even after losing that hand.
