Quad Aces for Semin

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

A short-stacked player raised to 5,400 from early position, then Mikhail Semin reraised to 15,000 from the cutoff seat. Tony Lay called the reraise from the small blind, and the original raiser called all in with his remaining chips.

The flop came {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{A-Hearts}, and both Lay and Semin checked. The turn was the {10-Hearts}. Lay checked, Semin bet 12,000, and after some thought Lay called.

The river was the {K-Hearts}. Lay checked again, and this time Semin bet 26,000. Lay tanked for a full minute, then called once more.

Semin quickly tabled his hand — {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. He'd flopped quad aces, and Lay quickly mucked. Meanwhile the all-in player showed his {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} and departed.
