Hand 86-88: Chen Moving Chips, Takes the Lead

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
Benny Chen is Our New Chip Leader

Hand #86: Liberto opened for 330,000 from under the gun, Bennington called on the button, and the flop fell {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Lioberto led out for 330,000 and Bennington flatted to see the turn of {K-Diamonds} hit the board. Two checks later, and the {2-Hearts} materialized on the river, prompting Liberto to lead out again, this time for a 525,000 wager. Bennington looked him up and tabled the {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a pair of aces, good enough to take it down.

Hand #87: Chen opened for 325,000 holding the button, and Gray called out of the small blind. Liberto saw an opportunity to squeeze, and he three-bet to 865,000, a wager which both Chen and Gray called to build a huge multiway pot.

Flop: {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

With a ragged board, Gray checked to the raiser, and both Liberto and Chen checked behind.

Turn: {10-Diamonds}

The three players again checked down, perhaps fearful of committing themselves to such a large pot.

River: {8-Hearts}

Gray was finished playing coy, and he pushed a bet of 1 million forward, forcing Liberto to fold. Chen held {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for top pair with a good kicker, however, and he looked Gray up. With just {K-}{Q-} for no pair, Gray was caught making a move, and the massive pot was pushed towards Chen.

Hand #88: Feeling flush with newly acquired chips, Chen put them to good use with a raise of 325,000 from under the gun. Bennington called to defend his big blind, and the flop of {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts} brought an action board. Bennington checked, however, and folded when Chen fired a 425,000 bet his way.

Hands 81-85: Let the Games Begin

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #81: After claiming the rest of Dan Kelly's stack, Justin Liberto used those chips to his advantage, raising to 330,000 from the button and winning an uncontested pot.

Hand #82: Chen raised his small blind to 380,000, and Gray called out of the big blind. A flop of {4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{K-Hearts} saw Chen continue for 325,000 and Gray once again flatted, bringing the turn of {J-Clubs} to the table. Chen slowed down on fourth street, checking and folding to Gray's 800,000 wager.

Hand #83: Chen raised his button to 325,000, and Liberto called to defend his big blind. The flop fell {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and the action went check-check. After the turn card produced the {6-Hearts}, Liberto led out for 420,000, prompting Chen to slide 900,000 into the middle. This aggression achieved its intended affect, scaring Liberto off and earning Chen a decent pot.

Hand #84: Chen opened for 325,000 from under the gun, and Liberto flatted to see a flop of {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}. After Liberto checked his action, Chen fired away with a bet of 300,000, and Liberto called. Both players checked the {6-Clubs} on the turn, and the {A-Clubs} dropped on the river. A large million chip bet forced an immediate muck by Chen, sending Liberto the chips.

Hand #85: Following a raise to 480,000 from Bennington, Chen three-bet to 2.16 million, forcing Bennington's cards into the muck.

Dan Kelly Eliminated in 5th Place ($302,104)

Dan Kelly - 5th Place

Hand #80: Chen opened to 325,000 from the cutoff, Liberto called in the small blind, and Kelly decided to three-bet shove for his last 2.95 million. Chen got out of the way, leaving Liberto to contemplate his decision. After checking and rechecking his cards, Liberto finally tossed calling chips into the middle and rolled over {K-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Kelly was ahead with his {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}, but only by the thinnest of margins, and the young online phenom was racing for his tournament life.

Flop: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

The flop was a dry one for Liberto, and Kelly's pocket pair had preserved its lead through three board cards.

Turn: {J-Hearts}

The ultimate sweat card arrived on the turn, giving Liberto lifelines in the form of flush and gutshot straight possibilites, in addition to his overcards. The railbirds hovered closer to the table to await the river's decision.

River: {K-Hearts}

Liberto hit both ways, spiking a pair while improving to a flush to add a bit of flourish to the elimination.

Hands 78-79: The Calm Before the Storm

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #78: After Liberto opened for 320,000, Gray three-bet shipped his stack and took the pot down.

Hand #79: Playing from under the gun, Kelly raised to 325,000 and Chen called him holding the button. The flop fell {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and both players elected to check the textured board. Both players checked the turn card of {8-Hearts}, as well as the {10-Hearts} on the river. Kelly opened up {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and his ace-high proved to be good.

Hands 74-77

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #74: Chen opened for 350,000 and Liberto called, bringing on a flop of {K-Clubs}{j-Spades}{Q-Spades}. After a check by Liberto, Chen fired 325,000 and took it down.

Hand #75: Bennington made it 500,000 to play from under the gun and earned an uncontested pot.

Hand #76: Chen won the pot with an under the gun raise of 325,000, forcing folds around the table.

Hand #77: Kelly raised his button, making it 325,000 to play, and both Bennington and Chen called out of the blinds. On the flop of {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Bennington and Chen checked to Kelly, who obliged with a c-bet of 425,000. This folded Bennington, but Chen came along to see the {2-Spades} come on the turn. The blank inspired two checks, and the {Q-Spades} arrived on fifth street. A bet of 450,000 by Chen was enough to scare Kelly off, giving him the pot and the applause of his supporters here in the Mothership.

Chris Hunichen Eliminated in 6th Place ($229,575)

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
Chris Hunichen - 6th Place
Chris Hunichen - 6th Place

Hand #73: Liberto opened for 320,000 from under the gun and Hunichen shoved all-in for an additional 875,000. Making the call, Liberto revealed the {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and found himself trailing the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} tabled by Hunichen. The flop came {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, and with it, Liberto found four additional outs to the wheel straight.

He would not need them, however, because the turn delivered the {A-Diamonds} and put him squarely in the lead. When the {2-Clubs} fell on the river, Hunichen's deep run came to an end he was eliminated in 6th place, earning $229,575 for his efforts.
