Hands 176-183

Level 36 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #176: With a dead button after Liberto's elimination, Bennington raised to 800,000 from the small blind and Chen defended his big. The flop fell {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Bennington forced his opponent to fold with a c-bet of 800,000 more.

Hand #177: Bennington continued to play aggressively, raising yet again to 800,000 from the button, and Gray came along to see the flop of {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. After checking around, the players checked the {7-Diamonds} turn as well. The river came {K-Diamonds}, and Gray check-folded to Bennington's 1 million chip bet.

Hand #178: Chen raised to 800,000 holding the button, and Gray responded with a three-bet jam. After pausing to count the bet out, Chen decided to release and the pot was shipped to Gray.

Hand #179: This hand was a trade back, as Gray raised to 800,000, and folded his winnings from the previous hand back to Chen after he pushed all-in.

Hand #180: Bennington stole the blinds and antes with a raise to 800,000 from the button.

Hand #181: Chen raised to 800,000 on the button, Bennington called, and the flop fell {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Bennington check-called a bet of 625,000, and the turn came {2-Diamonds}. A pair of checks brought the {7-Spades} on the river, and Bennington led out for 2.1 million, which earned him the victory.

Hand #182: Bennington limped from the small blind, and folded to Chen's raise of 1.2 million.

Hand #183: Chen shoved all-in from the small blind, and Gray surrendered his big blind.

Hand #175: One hand back from break, and we have our latest elimination. Chen opened for 800,000 from under the gun, and Liberto three-bet jammed for 3.05 million. Chen quickly called with {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, and he had Liberto's {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts} in terrible shape. The players stood in anticipation while the dealer fanned the flop.

Flop: {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

The nine in the window briefly had Liberto's cheering section going crazy, but the ten that followed it quickly silenced their celebration. Liberto would need a second nine to arrive on the turn or river, but the {4-Hearts} and {2-Hearts} came instead, sending the gracious young competitor to the payout desk for a impressive six-figure haul.

Breaking Down the Wall

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

The players have departed the main stage for a twenty-minute break, and they will return shortly to continue this exhilarating exercise in check-calling to see who will become the latest WSOP-made millionaire.

Hands 169-174

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #169: Bennington's 600,000 raise from the button earned him the blinds and antes.

Hand #170: Liberto went for a walk in the big blind.

Hand #171: Feeling his Wheaties after the walk, Liberto open-shoved all in from the small blind and took down another pot.

Hand #172: Bennington raised his small blind to 650,000, Chen called, and the two checked the board of {6-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} through the turn. When the river came {j-Hearts}, Bennington checked a third time, and Chen made an all-in bet which won him the pot.

Hand #173: Bennington kept at it, raising to 600,000 from the button and scooping the blinds and antes.

Hand #174: Chen raised his button to 600,000, and Liberto came along for a flop of [9sqcdh]. After Liberto checked, Chen studied the board and the pot before firing a bet of 450,000. Liberto did his own statue impression, staring silently into the ether before making the call. On the {9-Clubs} turn, both players opted to tap the table. and the {8-Hearts} arrived on the river. Two more checks and Chen's {10-}{10-}, and the pocket pair was good.

Hands 160-168

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #160: Liberto raised his button to 600,000, Bennington called from the small blind, and the flop fell {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. Both players checked to the {K-Spades} turn, and the action repeated through the {7-Hearts} river. Liberto's {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} proved to be the winner, as Bennington held only the lowly {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Hand #161: Liberto's opening raise of 600,000 was met with an three-bet shove by Chen, which earned him the pot.

Hand #162: Chen raised his button, making it 600,000 to play, and the action folded around making it two in a row for a short-stacked Chen.

Hand #163: Chen kept up the aggression, raising to 600,000 from under the gun, but he finally met resistance in the form of a reshove by Gray. Chen mucked and the pot was pushed Gray's way.

Hand #164: Gray popped it 750,000 from under the gun, and Chen came along to see a flop of {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}. After Chen checked the action, Gray responded in kind by tapping the table, and the {7-Spades} turned. Chen elected to lead out on fourth street, firing 825,000 and staring silently at the table. Gray reached towards his stack and cut out enough chips for a call, bringing the {Q-Diamonds} on the river. This card caused Chen to deliberate for thirty seconds while riffling a stack of purple T100,000 chips. Eventually, he used those chips to bet 1.35 million, and Gray quickly looked him up, but Chen's {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the flopped nuts proved to be the winner.

Hand #165: As tournament staff colored off some of the orange T5000 chips, we missed a brief and uneventful pot.

Hand #166: Gray's open-shove from the small blind claimed the antes.

Hand #167: Liberto tried the same trick, moving all-in from the small blind, and he took the pot without a contest.

Hand #168: Action folded around to Bennington in the small blind, and he raised to 850,000. Chen called and the flop of {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs} was checked by Bennington. Chen fired a bet of 675,000 forward, Bennington popped it to 2.1 million, and Chen insta-folded.
