Romanello Boosts Stack to 358K

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Roberto Romanello has been grinding away quietly all day, hanging around the average sized stack and his patience has been paid off.

Suraj Dutt opened to 16,000 in the hijack, then the cutoff three-bet to 48,000. next to act, on the button, was Romanello and the Welshman four-bet all in for a total of 173,000. Dutt folded but the cutoff went deep into the tank, emerging some two minutes later with a call.

Romanello: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Cutoff: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Romanello was a 4.5-to-1 favorite to double up, but needed to avoid a seven otherwise his tournament would be over. He avoided a seven on the {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop, dodged a seven on the {a-Spades} and steered clear of a seven on the {4-Hearts} river.
