Laying Wood

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Cory Wood opened to 9,000 in the hijack, and Chiab Saechao reraised to 25,000 on the button. Wood jammed for 153,000, and Saechao went into the tank.

"Will you show me if I fold?" he asked. Wood affirmed that he would.

Finally, Saechao decided to call, flipping over {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. Wood was dominated with {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

"You took that long with ace-king?" Wood asked.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, and Wood pulled ahead. A {6-Diamonds} turn closed out some of Saechao's outs, and the river was a meaningless {j-Spades}. Saechao let a few curses fly as Wood took the pot.

The next hand, Wood opened for a raise and Humberto Brenes reraised on the button. Wood called, and on the river he check-called a bet of around 40,000 on a board of {a-}{k-}{q-}{4-}{6-}. Brenes slid his cards into the middle, and Wood turned over {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and took the pot.
