Glantz Falls to Anderson

Level 4
Matt Glantz
Matt Glantz

Pot-Limit Omaha

In 2012 this event only saw one elimination on the first day of play. That number has already been beaten here in 2013 as the second player of the day has fallen.

We arrived at the table just as the cards were being tabled while the flop read {10-Spades}{K-Clubs}{3-Spades}. After a series of raises, Matt Glantz was all in and at risk against Calvin Anderson.

Anderson; {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Glantz: {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Glantz was drawing big but suddenly realized that his spade outs were covered by Anderson's ace-high draw. The turn brought the {2-Clubs} and the {4-Diamonds} finished off the board causing Glantz to miss everything and eliminate him from play. He moved his chips across the table, graciously said "good game," and left the tournament area. Anderson dragged in the pot and now sits on about 220,000.
