Hennigan Five-Bets the Flop Against Baranov in NL

Level 3

No-Limit Hold'em

When we arrived at the table, a flop of {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} was laid out in the middle of the felt with action involving Richard Ashby, John Hennigan and Sergii Baranov. Given the positions of Hennigan in middle position, Baranov on the button and Ashby in the big blind, it is most likely that Hennigan had raised this pot preflop with Baranov and Ashby calling.

On the flop, Ashby checked, and Hennigan bet 1,500. Baranov raised to 5,500, and Ashby folded. Hennigan reraised to 12,500, but Baranov didn't back down and reraised to 25,500. Hennigan requested to see how much Baranov had left, did so, then reraised to 50,000. Baranov went into the tank for quite some time, but eventually folded, and Hennigan won the pot.
