Mixing It Up on Day 3 of the OE
Welcome back to PokerNews' coverage of Event #5: $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better at the 2013 World Series of Poker. Today marks the third and final day of this event, and it is one that will eventually see a winner crowned. Of the 19 players remaining, Mike Gorodinsky leads the way with 330,500 in chips.
Plenty of firepower still remains in the pack of players who trail Gorodinsky, including Daniel Negreanu, George Danzer, Matthew Ashton and David "Bakes" Baker, and they'll all be vying for the $216,958 top prize that comes along with winning the WSOP gold bracelet.
All eyes will surely be on Negreanu, who aims to capture his sixth piece of WSOP hardware. Negreanu currently leads the 2013 WSOP Player of the Year race thanks to a massive performance at the WSOP Asia-Pacific in April, and he will be looking to further distance himself from the pack in hopes of a repeat performance from 2004 when he won the title.
Action is set to kick off at 2 p.m. local time here in Las Vegas. If you're in the area, come on down and sweat the action, but if you're not, stay glued right here to these pages all day long. We'll see you shortly for the start of the day, so stay tuned!
