Gorodinsky Gets a Surprise Scoop

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Stud-8

Gorodinsky: {x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} / {x-}
Ahmed: {x-}{x-}/ {3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} / {x-}
Fotiadis: {x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Spades} FOLD

Owais Ahmed brought in, and Mike Gorodinsky called, as did Goeroge Fotiadis. Gorodinsky fired out when it was checked to him, and both players called. Gorodinsky bet again on fifth, and this time, Fotiadis got out of the way. On sixth street, Gorodinsky checked, and Ahmed fired out this time. Gorodinsky called, and both players checked on seventh.

Gorodinsky showed {3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a pair of eights and an 8-7-4 low. Ahmed showed {a-Spades}{3-Spades} and started to collect his bets, thinking it was a chop. However, upon further inspection, Ahmed had just an 8-7-5 low, giving the whole pot to Gorodinsky. Ahmed then admitted "I misread my hand I thought i had a seven low," and that mistake cost Ahmed an extra bet, and half of the pot.

Gorodinsky is back up to 1.3 million, while Ahmed falls down to 580,000.
