Warchol Bests Ho in Big Pot

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Danny Warchol raised, and Maria Ho made it three bets. Warchol called, and the flop came {7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Ho checked to Warchol, who fired out. Ho tossed out a check raise, and Warchol called. On the turn, the {4-Clubs}, Ho check called a bet, and on the river, {10-Clubs}, Ho checked again. Warchol quickly fired out a bet, and Ho went into the tank. About 20 seconds in, she grabbed raising chips, and started shuffling them, which caused Warchol's eyebrows to raise up. She eventually just called, and Warchol rolled over {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for top pair, which was good enough to take down the pot.

Danny Warchol Strikes First Blood

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

On the first hand of the final table to see a flop, Danny Warchol raised and then called Maria Ho's three-bet to bring the {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs} to the board.

Ho bet when it was checked to her, and Warchol raised it up. After Ho flatted, the turn came {j-Hearts}, and Ho called Warchol's bet. Unfortunately, we missed the river card with the quick betting, but Warchol revealed the {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a turned two pair, and that was enough to earn the pot.

Mike Watson Eliminated in 8th Place ($19,430)

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Mike Watson - 8th Place
Mike Watson - 8th Place

Mike Watson lost a big hand to Mike Schiffman, when he could not produce a pair and Schiffman's {3-Spades}{7-Spades} was good on the {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts} board, and he was eliminated soon afterward.

Marco Johnson did the deed, after Watson got his last four bets in before the flop. Johnson held the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, while Watson tabled the {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}.

Flop: {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Turn: {8-Spades}
River: {q-Clubs}

Johnson flopped an open-ender, and the turn gave him the nut straight. Watson stood to make his exit, and he earned $19,430 for his 8th place finish here today.

Watson Doubles Through Warchol....Again

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Mike Watson and Danny Warchol have been battling in pots all day, and most of them have resulted in Watson securing double ups. Well that just happened again, as Watson got the last of his 55,000 in the middle holding {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. He was up against the {q-Spades}{7-Clubs} of Warchol, and the hand was almost over when the flop came down {9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Warchol would need runner runner to win, but the {a-Clubs} on the turn ended things. The meaningless river was the {4-Hearts}, and Watson got another double up to 110,000.

The River Sinks Danny Le Again, He Triples Through Soon After

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

After absorbing a few tough beats on the river, but rebounding to recover his chip stack, Danny Le just got beat on fifth street yet again.

This time it was Jeff Thompson doing the damage, when his {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} connected on the {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} board. Le winced when he saw the bad news, and he was left with just a few bets left to his name.

Those bets got in soon afterward, against Maria Ho and Thompson in a threeway pot, and Le's {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} was good enough on the {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} board. Both Ho and Thompson held {Q-}{J-}, and Le tripled through to continue his see-saw day.

Helppi Wins One, Then Losses One

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Not long after Juha Helppi doubled through Thompson, he got right back into the action in a pot against Maria Ho. We caught up with the action on the turn, with the board showing {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Ho check called a bet from Helppi, and when the {j-Spades} came on the river, Ho fired out. Helppi thought for just a few moments before he announced raise, and committed almost all of his chips into the middle. Ho tanked for a bit before folding, and Helppi collected the pot.

On the very next hand, Helppi raised it up, and Danny Le three bet it. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, and Helppi check called a bet from Le. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, and both players checked. The {q-Spades} hit the river, and Helppi bet out. Le called, and Helppi confidently showed {q-Hearts}{10-Spades} for top pair on the river. It was no good though, ans Le had {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for a better kicker.

Juha Helppi Doubles Through Jeff Thompson

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Juha Helppi Just Doubled Through Jeff Thompson
Juha Helppi Just Doubled Through Jeff Thompson

With the second shortest stack heading back from break, Juha Helppi made his stand with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, getting four bets in before the flop against Jeff Thompson.

Thompson tabled the {J-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, and Helppi's ace-high was in the lead. The final board of {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} kept Helppi in front, and he earned a desperately needed double to remain in contention.
