Ivey Gets Set Up

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Phil Ivey led out for 24,000 (roughly a pot-sized bet) on a board of {10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. His opponent, Masa Kagawa, tanked for around 90 seconds then raised to 49,000.

Ivey shot him a look.

The nine-time bracelet winner examined his own stack, shot another look at Kagawa, then tossed forward two green T25,000 chips.

The {q-Clubs} completed the board, Ivey instantly checked, and Kagawa fired out another 92,000. Ivey tanked once again, glaring at his opponent, then finally called.

Kagawa tabled {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a turned set of threes, and Ivey went to muck his hand. When he did, one of the cards hit the dealer in the hand, and turned face up. It was the {10-Diamonds}.

Selbst Wins Big

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jason Mercier made it 3,200 to go and Vanessa Selbst made the call two positions down. Robert Moore made the call from the small blind and Tobias Reinkemeier came along from the big blind.

{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

Both blinds checked to Mercier who bet 4,700. Selbst made the call and so did Moore, Reinkemeier folded. {A-Diamonds} on the turn and both Moore and Mercier checked to Selbst. She bet out 19,300 and got a rather quick raise from Moore who made it 40,000 even. Mercier folded but Selbst made the call. The {3-Clubs} fell on the river and Moore bet out 40,000. Selbst thought for a long time, eventually raising to 153,300. Moore made the call but had to muck as he was shown {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

Micah Raskin vs. Isaac Haxton

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Micah Raskin raised to 4,000 from under the gun and Jim McCrink called on the button. Isaac Haxton called from the big blind and the flop came down {Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Haxton checked to Raskin who bet 9,000. McCrink folded, Haxton called, and the {Q-Diamonds} landed on the turn. This time Haxton led out for 13,500, but Raskin raised to 28,000. A call from Haxton landed the {K-Hearts} river which he checked. Raskin bet 50,000, Haxton called, and Raskin tabled {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a flush. Haxton mucked and Raskin collected the pot.

O'Dwyer Out Kicked

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Eugene Katchalov bumped it up to 4,000 from the cutoff and Steve O'Dwyer defended from the big blind. Both players then checked the {4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades} flop and the {8-Spades} appeared on the turn. O'Dwyer seized the initiative and bet 7,500, which Katchalov called.

When the {7-Hearts} completed the board on the river, O'Dwyer led out for 13,000 and Katchalov called. "King," O'Dwyer said confidently as he turned over the {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Unfortunately for him, Katchalov had a better kicker with the {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Massive Double for the Magician

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Antonio Esfandiari doubles
Antonio Esfandiari doubles

Richard Yong opened to 3,200 from under the gun, Antonio Esfandiari three-bet to what looked like 9,000 or so in the cutoff, and Yong called.

"Never Bluff Richard," Esfandiari nicknamed Yong. "You never bluff."

The flop fell {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, and the man that "never bluffs" reached for chips. He fired out 12,000, Esfandiari raised to 30,100, and Yong pushed back, re-raising to 92,000. Not to be outdone, Esfandiari re-raised, making it 190,100, and Yong quickly went all in.

"Call," Esfandiari announced, committing his last 299,100 chips.

Yong: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Esfandiari: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Yong had flopped a set of nines, but Esfandiari was drawing very live with a gut-shot straight flush draw. The dealer was prepared to quickly deliver the turn and river, but Esfandiari stopped her.

"Stop!" he exclaimed. "Stop!"

He wanted to soak up the moment for a bit, then finally allowed her to deal the turn card - the {8-Clubs}. Esfandiari could now make a better full house with a ten on the river.

The river was not a ten, but the {5-Hearts} spiked onto the felt to give Esfandiari a flush. He jumped out of his chair in excitement, running across the secondary feature table stage.

"Good luck," Yong told him, shaking his hand, but Yong was not eliminated. He still remains at the secondary feature table with around 17,000 chips.

Einhorn is Kenney! Kenney is Einhorn! Einhorn is a Man!

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

With around 75,000 in the pot and a board reading {4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, David Einhorn checked from the big blind and Bryn Kenney did the same from the button. When the {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Einhorn tossed out a bet of 38,000 and Kenney called. Einhorn tabled the {10-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of tens and it was good as Kenney sent his cards to the muck.
